The Lyman Museum is pleased to announce that it will offer free admission on Monday, November 12, 2018, Veterans Day, to active-duty and retired military personnel and their spouses, children, and grandchildren.

“The Lyman Museum proudly supports our military and their families,” says Barbara Moir, the Museum’s President and Executive Director.  “As a special tribute and thank-you to the men and women who serve or have served in our country’s armed forces (and to their families, who also ‘serve’), we are inviting them to visit the Museum free of charge on Veterans Day.”

The free Veterans Day admission is available to all active and retired members of any branch of the U.S. armed forces, and their spouses, children, and grandchildren.  All that is required is for the military member to present any of the following three identification cards—the CAC, DD Form 1173/1173-1, or DD Form 2—or a separate document, the DD Form 214.

The nationally accredited and Smithsonian-affiliated Lyman Museum showcases the natural and cultural history of Hawai‘i.  Located in historic downtown Hilo at 276 Haili Street, the Museum is open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday.  For more information, call (808) 935-5021 or visit www.lymanmuseum.org.
