Visiting Info

When to Visit:  The Museum is open 10:00 am – 4:30 pm daily, Monday through Friday.  The Museum is closed on New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. 

Admission for the Lyman Museum is divided into two separate bookings: the Lyman Museum admission (self-guided tour) and the Mission House Tour (guided tour). Once you book for one tour you will be prompted in the confirmation booking page to book the other tour if you so desire. The rates are shown below.  
Lyman Museum Admission:    

Kama`āina: $5 adults, $3 seniors, $2 children (ages 6 – 17)
Out-of-State: $7 adults, $5 seniors, $2 children
University Students: $3

Mission House Tours:    

Kama`āina and Out-of-State:
 $3 adults, $3 seniors, $1 children (ages 6 – 17)
University Students: $2

The Lyman Museum is following State COVID-19 Guidelines to assure the safety of our visitors and staff.  Limited capacity of visitors allowed in both the Museum and Mission House.   
• Reservations are required for Museum entry and Mission house tours.
• Phone-ins and walk-ins are allowed upon availability of space.
Masks are required at all times in the Museum and Mission House.
• Please use the hand sanitizers available throughout the Museum.
• Please follow physical distancing marks of 6 feet.
• Please follow one-way traffic arrows on carpet.
• The Museum is disinfected/sanitized after each session.
In the Museum and Mission House, please …….
• Absolutely no food or drink
• Supervise children at all times
• Cell phones off or set to vibrate while in the Mission House
• No photography in Mission House, photography okay in Museum
• Bags larger than 12” x 12” should be left in the car
• Strollers are not allowed in galleries or Mission House
• Shirt and footwear required
Museum admission times – 30 visitors per session max:

  • Session 1 ——- 10 – 11:30 AM  
  • Session 2 ——- 11:45 AM – 1:15 PM  
  • Session 3 ——– 1:30 – 3:00 PM  
  • Session 4 ——– 3:15 – 4:30 PM (Kūpuna and High Risk only on Mondays)
Mission House tour times – 5 visitors per tour max:

  • Session 1 ——- 10:05 – 10:35 AM  
  • Session 1 ——- 10:50 – 11:20 AM  
  • Session 2 ——- 11:50 AM – 12:20 PM  
  • Session 2 ——- 12:35 – 1:05 PM  
  • Session 3 ——– 1:35 – 2:05 PM  
  • Session 3 ——– 2:20 – 2:50 PM  
  • Session 4 ——- no Mission House Tours



If arriving from the North, take Highway 19/Hawaii Belt Road to Kamehameha Ave.  Make a slight right onto Kamehameha Ave.  Take the 2nd right onto Haili St.  The Museum is 0.4 miles up, at 276 Haili St. on the right.  Parking is on the street or next to the Mission House.

If arriving from the South, take Highway 19/Hawaii Belt Road to Kamehameha Ave.  Keep going straight when HI-19 turns into Kamehameha Ave.  Take a left onto Haili St.  The Museum is 0.4 miles up, at 276 Haili St. on the right.  Parking is on the street or next to the Mission House.


If you are taking Saddle Road over from the West side of the island please note:

The final phase of reconstruction is taking place from mile marker 11 and 5.3. It is expected to take approximately 16 months, from April 2016 to August 2017.

Single lanes between mile markers 11.5 and 8.5 may result in delays, 15 minutes is the average time of the delay and longer delays are not expected.
