Niihau Shell Set1Just in time for the holidays, Kele Kanahele of the Island of Ni`ihau returns to teach the authentic creation of Ni`ihau shell jewelry!  Visit his acclaimed workshop twice in December:

Friday, December 19                  10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.
Saturday, December 20             10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.

On either day you may learn how to make an 18-inch necklace/lei ($205 Museum members, $215 nonmembers), a 22-inch necklace/lei ($250 members, $260 nonmembers), or a pair of earrings ($65 members, $75 nonmembers) in the pikake style, using momi lenalena shells.  You may, of course, create more than one piece, as long as you sign up for specific pieces in advance.  Space is limited to 24 persons per day; only people who have registered can be permitted in the classroom.  Reservations must be made, pieces specified, and the workshop fee(s) paid by Monday, December 15 to ensure your place and the availability of shells.

Give someone you love (yourself, perhaps?) a very special gift this holiday season!
